My daughter is allergic to food dye, and she can't eat a some brands of popsicles. We needed to make our own. I had the Lickity Sip, but had lost half the plastic "sticks". I didn't replace it with that one since I didn't want to search the yard looking for the plastic ones every time they ate outside. So, I wanted one that used wooden sticks. This is great. It makes a lot of pops at a time. You can't tell from the description or pictures, but the molds are all connected in a metal frame. Some people complained that the sticks get stuck, or popped up. I didn't have a problem with them popping up, so I don't pre-soak them. If they did pop up, I think I would put something on top to hold them down while freezing, a bag of frozen Veggies maybe. Others complained the stick holes were too small, I used a flat-head screwdriver to widen the holes a little. It worked great. Some have complained that they have to run it under water to loosen the Pops. I think thats true of any... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Granny-pops, July 25, 2009
By
This review is from: Progressive International PLP-1 Freezer Pop Maker (Kitchen)
As a grandparent of 6, I have made a big hit with freezer pops made with these molds. I bought 3 of them, because the recipe I use is a Jello-pop recipe which uses matching flavors of Jello and CoolAde and makes 15 pops. With 3 molds, I can make 2 different flavors at once! I have used other molds, but don't like tracking the plastic handles after the pop is finished! The trick with this mold is to freeze the pops for exactly 1 1/2 hours before inserting the sticks. If you insert them earlier they "float" sideways and when frozen, you can't get the lid off. The grandkids put in their order before their visit, so that I will have the preferred flavors when they arrive. We have pictures of the "Granny-pop salute" in which all kids with Granny-pops hold up their pops at the same time. Don't worry, if your grandchildren call you something else besides "Granny", you can adapt the name to "Na-Na Pops", "Gee-Gee Pops" or whatever! BIG hit!

4.0 out of 5 stars popsicles!, October 24, 2007

I bought this item because I am having surgery and will be on a liquid diet for three weeks. In an effort to make this somewhat more interesting, I started checking out sugar-free popsicles in the stores, and discovered that most sugar-free popsicles in the stores are completely awful. So I'm making my own.

The tray is easy to use and all my treats held their shape well and came out of the molds very easily by running hot water over the outside. I like that it uses actual popsicle sticks instead of plastic ones, since those can get bent and ruined over time, whereas buying more sticks is cheap and easy.

Exactly what I wanted.

I'm responsible for managing office and meeting supplies, and storing large paper plates and coffee cups has always been a problem. You need to keep them very clean, but once you've opened the packaging they come in, it's no longer useful for storing the supplies. The 2-gallon Ziploc bags are large enough to store full-size paper plates and other meeting supplies easily. They're the perfect solution!

# Freezer Temperature Controller

Customer Rating :
Rating: 4.7

Freezer Temperature Controller

Product Description

Use this handy controller to regulate the temperature in your freezer between 20 - 80F . Great for turning a chest freezer into a keg refrigerator. Strictly a mechanical thermostat for cooling only, it is simple to use and economical. It operates with a gas filled probe on a 6-foot capillary tube. When the gas contracts or expands in the probe, it triggers a mechanical device inside the control which turns the power on or off. There is no probe temperature readout on the dial, so keeping a thermometer inside the refrigerator is highly recommended to keep track of the actual temperature. On most refrigerators, the controller will allow a usable range of 37 to 80 F, while on freezers, the controller will be able to reach its full 20 to 80 F range. *Keep in mind that if you use it to control a refrigerator, you will lose the use of the freezer compartment for food storage, as it will not stay cold enough for safe frozen food storage. In stock and ready to ship. Features: Made of stainless steel. Adjustable with the turn of a knob. No drilling necessary. Plug unit into wall and then run the sensor into your freezer. Male and female plug in one. Specs: Temperature dimensions: 4 3/8"H x 2 1/8"W x 1 1/2"D. Cord dimensions: 6'. Remote sensor bulb: 5 1/2"W. Remote sensor bulb capillary tube: 6'. Temperature range: 20 - 80F. Voltage: 120 VAC. . . Includes: Chain hanger kit. Instructions.

  • Great for turning a chest freezer into a keg refrigerator.
  • Easy to set up and use.
  • Plug unit into wall and then run the sensor into your freezer.
  • Temperature range: 20 - 80F.
  • Easy to adjust with a quick turn of the dial.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for chest freezer to kegerator conversion, March 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Freezer Temperature Controller
Since my chest freezer dials only allowed for temperatures of freezing and below, or 50 and above, I had no way of keeping my kegs cold enough to where I like my beer (35-40 degrees).
But this device has been outstanding. To limit the frequency of which it turns on, I placed the thermometer in a glass/bottle of water. That way, when the liquid gets to cold, that's when the thermostat kicks in and turns the freezer back on until the liquid is at the desired temp. Also saves the compressor so it's not kicking on as much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thermostat Control for Brewing, May 6, 2010
This review is from: Freezer Temperature Controller
Very easy to install - takes only about a minute to set it up. When measuring with a separate, digital thermometer, I concluded the unit is accurate to within 2 degrees Fahrenheit...or perhaps my digital thermometer is slightly off. Regardless, it works great - definitely recommend it for converting old fridges into a kegerator or for use in fermenting homebrew at a specific temp.

This thermostat control is very easy to use. You just plug your refridgeration device of choice in -- I am using a small wine refrigerator that I am using for aging hard cheese that I make -- and set the desired temp on the dial. I have a digital thermometer monitoring the temp inside, and the temp stays just where I want it, within 3 degrees of the set temp. This control unit seemed to have the best price point when I was looking for this product.
